Do You Find it Hard Making Time to Exercise?
Is it hard making time to exercise?
The Queensland government has embarked on a new advertising campaign to get people exercising called “what’s your 30 minutes?” It’s designed to get people to include 30 minutes of exercise everyday into their routine.
With the national overweight and obesity epidemic that we are seeing in Australia this is a good step to getting the population healthier and thinner.
So where do you fit exercise in to your day, if you are not currently doing so?
Firstly ask yourself why you aren’t scheduling time to look after health and fitness.
If you have a medical condition that prohibits or limits you from most physical activities ask your doctor what you can do rather than what you can’t. Then with this information find a professional to help you like a personal trainer who will monitor you while you exercise and prescribe the safest exercises rather than a gym that will show you only once.
If you have a busy lifestyle with work commitments that see you leaving home early in the morning and getting back home in the evening you may have to have some small sacrifices to commit time for yourself.
In your lunch break go outside for a walk or park away from the office and walk the last 10 minutes to work. If you need some help seek some advice to manage your time more efficiently.
If you don’t have any medical conditions or a very busy lifestyle than maybe you are just lazy and would rather sit on the couch than go for a walk on the beach.
If this sounds like you than you could become another statistic for overweight or obesity, type 11 diabetes, heart condition and many other weight related conditions.
If so than you need to make the time to exercise. Whether you start with 30 minutes a day on your own or get professional help to motivate you and speed up the process the choice is yours.
So what’s going to be your 30 minutes, or what’s your excuse not to.
