“The Key Ingredient To Lasting Weight Loss”
Is it Low Carbohydrates, High Protein, High Carbohydrates, Low Fat, No Fat, Low Sugar, Meal Replacement Shakes, Detoxing or any other radical diet that’s out on the market at the moment?
There are so many choices out there all claiming to be the magic cure for weight loss and more and more new ideas coming at us everyday. Why? Because this is a Trillion dollar industry and everyone wants a quick fix. But if any of these diets worked long term why is the overweight and obesity crisis in the western world on the increase?
Because they don’t work over a long period of time. If you have tried any of the popular weight loss diets out there you may have initially lost some weight but was it fat? Generally no. The weight you have lost is water and muscle, two key ingredients to a healthy body. And with less muscle your metabolism slows down so when you stop your diet you put the weight back on and some extra.
So what is the key ingredient to lasting weight loss?
Strength training. Building lean muscle to increase your metabolism which in turn burns more energy constantly. It’s not endless amounts of cardio exercise. Although this is important for your heart and lungs strength it won’t turn your body into a calorie burning machine like lean muscle does.
Muscle requires a lot of energy to move. Fat doesn’t. Whenever you lift, pull, push, you are using your muscles, not your fat. And muscle protects your body from injuries, and strengthens your bones preventing osteoporosis. Fat does not. Fat is used as an energy source and to keep you warm, that’s all.
So start strengthening your muscles if you want to lose weight permanently. Don’t waste your money on diets that are full of promises but won’t give you a healthy body for the rest of your life.
Incorporate these 4 simple exercises into a routine 3 times a week and start to see and feel the difference in a couple of weeks.
• Pushups
• Squats
• Lunges
• Dips
