Preventing Recurring Injuries from Happening.

Muscular injuries can happen at anytime and for many different reasons. Generally they occur from a sudden impact or incident or from overuse. Two of the most common areas for this are the shoulder and the knee. This is because both these joints are continually used everyday.

Whenever someone does acquire an sprain or strain they will almost certainly have to consult a Physiotherapist for rehabilitation of the specific area.

The Physio will work with the client to get a proper diagnosis, and then will give the client a number of exercises to perform to help strengthen the area. Once the client has finished with the Physio they will still have to perform some rehabilitation exercises to fully recover from their strain.

Unfortunately some people neglect to continue with these exercises and as a result they haven’t fully recovered. In these cases many people re-injure themselves and have to start the whole process again and sometimes in a worse state than the original problem.

To prevent the recurring from happening the client should continue on the rehabilitation process with a Personal Trainer that has the specific qualifications in this field. It’s important when recovering and rehabilitating that all exercise’s are performed correctly and progressed when the client is ready and able. It’s easy to forget small instructions when there isn’t someone watching what you are doing.

The exercise’s need to increase difficulty as the client progress’s so the joint becomes as stable and strong as before or even stronger. The joint also need’s to have it’s full range of motion and flexibility if it is going to fully recover.
